At Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, we are an ambitious, visionary, and learning organisation. We recognise hard work, encourage new ways of thinking, and embrace inclusion and diversity. We are inspired by what we do and how we do it–striving to be great and wanting the best possible outcomes for our children, young people and their families lies at the heart of who we are.
We want all children and young people to thrive, be healthy, happy, safe and prosperous, so as a team, we work in partnership with others and with openness and with integrity.

•Through conversation and searching data bases, collect and analyse information to add to the multi-agency risk assessment in the MACPT.
•Maintain a good understanding of current legislation and statutory procedures around education and safeguarding children and act as expert point of contact for MACPT in relation to these matters.
•Attend strategy meetings on behalf of the relevant education setting (if they are unable to attend) and contribute to the decision-making process with a sound rational.
•Take part in improvement activity within the MACPT e.g. case file audits and share the learning with education settings to promote good practice and support decision making processes.
To be considered for the role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Relevant professional qualification in education (BA QTS, B.Ed, PGCE, Cert Ed), health, social work or other related field equivalent to Level 5.
Experience of working with education settings with experience managing safeguarding.
Experience of implementing child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures, including statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the education system, relevant legislation, theoretical background of key issues.
This post also carries essential car user status, therefore you must be able to drive, have a driving licence and have access to a car, however for disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
In return, you will have the opportunity to work within a small friendly team where your contribution will be valued, and you will have the opportunity to help shape young people’s lives.
Internal applicants will be considered on a secondment basis where this is their preference. Internal Applicants should seek approval from their line manager prior to submitting their application.
