Are you ready to join us on our improvement journey?

At Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, we are on a transformational journey, designed to improve the experience of the children, young people, and families we work with. Children’s Services is our top priority for improvement within our Council Plan and we are placing children at the heart of all that we do.

We are investing in our services and people and putting additional resources in place to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children, young people, and their families. And we want you to help us make this happen.

We are seeking an Improvement & Inspection Lead for Childrens social care, responsible for supporting the Children’s Services & Skills Directorate in preparation and effective delivery of Inspections and monitoring visits.

About the Role

In this high-profile role, you will be responsible for the programme management of the Children’s Improvement Programme, to ensure the delivery of the Directorate’s priority projects to achieve transformational change and to deliver service improvements and savings targets.

You will support Heads of Service and Operations Managers with the development of service plans and you will ensure synergy with the overall Improvement Plan.

You will also be responsible for the digital transformation of the Children’s Directorate to drive reform and support organisational change to improve quality and outcomes, as well as addressing financial challenges.

You will need to be passionate about getting systems and processes right, and not afraid to challenge senior leaders to ensure that this happens.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have experience of risk management, building partnerships, and developing systems / processes. You will have strong leadership skills and will be performance focused.

You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently and confidently.

Our Offer to You

In return, we can offer professional guidance from our recently appointed experienced and supportive management team and the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills.

In addition to a broad suite of high-quality training packages, our people also enjoy a hybrid approach to flexible working, competitive salaries and a generous benefits package that includes a focus on staff wellbeing.

If you are ready to join our ambitious team – and make a tangible impact and positive difference to families’ lives at this critical time – then we would be delighted to receive your application.
