Due to the recent expansion of our Fostering service, we currently have a number of new and exciting opportunities for Social Workers to join our service.
We have opportunities for:
Permanent full time (37 hours), Monday to Friday, with flexible working

Based at Chelmunds Place in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull's Fostering Team are proud to provide high quality placements for children within the borough. We are responsible for the recruitment, assessment and supervision of both connected and non-connected foster carers.
We also hold responsibility for assessing special guardians and private fostering arrangements.
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Social Workers who can work within a supportive and committed social work team. We are dedicated to supporting our young people through quality placements and welcome applicants who understand and act as a good corporate parent.
You will work directly with carers for young people, helping them to develop the life skills and confidence to live a full and active life and to reach their full potential.

Earn up to £45,441 pa as a Social worker.
Local government pension with 6.8% (subject to annual review/change) section contribution.
25 days annual leave rising to 30 days after 5 years of service. We also offer the opportunity to buy up to 10 days of additional leave per year.

Our Children's Social Care Academy provides training and coaching for practitioners, with year-round training to progress in your career. Working in partnership with Bournemouth University, we deliver academic programs in-house to help you attain the Practice Education Award at either Honours or Masters level.
Manageable workloads, ensuring our Social Workers have the time to give dedicated support where it is needed.
About You
You will be a Professional Social Worker, holding a Qualification and Social Work England registration or pending registration. You will be looking for a new challenge in a caring forward thinking organisation.
Your experience will include working with children, young people, foster carers and their families, carrying out assessment of prospective, mainstream and connected foster carers using Form F and Form C assessments.
You will be able to apply understanding of all relevant laws and practices. Be a solution-focussed and capable worker, with a sound knowledge of current national and regional social work policies/practices. Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including a clear understanding of ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ and Fostering Services Regulations (2011).
You will hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle as this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job. For disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
